Solvability

Wrap Rate Calculator

If Your Wrap Rate Is Wrong, Your Price Is Wrong.

Most small GovCon contractors have never calculated their actual wrap rate. They use a number they heard somewhere, a rate from a proposal template, or worse — they guess.

The Solvability Wrap Rate Calculator changes that.

Know Your True Cost

Your wrap rate shows whether your bid price covers the real cost of doing business, including fringe, overhead, G&A, and fee.

Stop Pricing on Guesswork

A wrong wrap rate can cause you to price below cost or lose bids you should be winning. Either way, guessing in GovCon is expensive.

How It Works

The Calculator Walks You Through Your Cost Structure in Layers

001
Direct Labor

Start with your base hourly labor cost. This is the foundation of your wrap rate calculation.

002
Fringe Benefits
Add fringe benefits applied to direct labor, so your employee-related costs are properly included.
003
Overhead and G&A
Add overhead and G&A to understand how your indirect costs affect your fully burdened rate.
004
Fee
Add your fee or profit margin so you can see the full wrap rate used to price your work.

How to use this calculator

  1. Start with Direct Labor = 1.0000 to calculate your wrap rate multiplier.
  2. Adjust the rate percentages to match your actual indirect rates.
  3. FBLC (Fully Burdened Labor Cost) is your break-even floor — the minimum you must recover before any profit.
  4. Add your Fee on top of FBLC to get your Billing Rate to the Government (FBLF).
  5. Once you know your multiplier, replace 1.0000 with any hourly wage to see the fully-loaded billing rate for that employee.
Stop Guessing. Start Knowing.
Now that you know your wrap rate, let's talk about what it means for your bids and your business.
